Consul General (CG) of Ethiopia in Mumbai H.E. Demeke Atnafu Ambulo along with his team of Consular met up with committee members of Rotary Club of Pune south recently at his office in Mumbai. CG, along-with his team held a detailed discussion with Rotarian on their proposal to organize Endoscopic Surgery Camp in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This would be a goodwill gesture, in connection with the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of club.
It maybe noted that Rotary Club of Pune South is celebrating their Golden Jubilee Year from July 2019 to June 2020. In a unique and humanitarian gesture Rotary club has decided to use their social services for good cause on foreign land. The Club is organising Endoscopic Surgery Camp in capital city of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The Rotary club of Pune south will send a team of 10 expert doctors comprising surgeons, anesthetist, M D Physicians. These specialists penal of doctors would visit Ethiopia in December 2019. The team of doctors will carry out endoscopic surgery operations as well as they will train local doctors of Ethiopia who can do similar surgeries in future too.
Consulate General, H.E. Demeke Atnafu Ambulo said “We are extremely delighted in welcoming such commendable humanitarian initiative. This initative will benefit many needy patients in Ethiopia. Rotarians support will alleviate their medical worries and give them strength to get well.
CG also said “It is our long association with Rotarian and we are honored and pleased to meet Rtn. Vinod Agrawal, Rtn. Dr. Rajendra Gosavi, Rtn. Dr. Kiran Purohit and Rtn. Abhijit Joag past and presidents of the Rotary Club of Pune South.
CG, while welcoming the commendable initiative, extended special appreciation and gratitude to Vinod Agrawal, Director and Promoter of Phoenix Industries Plc in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Phoenix Industries, founded by Vinod Agrawal, is manufacturing plastic products with USD 1.5 Million Capital, and creating job for over 300 Ethiopians.
