Mumbai’s Revival Restaurant debut in Bangkok: To serve Thali & Pan Indian delicacies

Revival Restaurant at Bangkok

Traditional Indian fare offered in Sukhumvit Marketplace for family atmosphere

Indian tourists who visit Bangkok and deprived of authentic Indian food, have reason to cheer. Mumbai’s prominent restaurant Revival is opened its branch in Bangkok. The Revival restaurant, bar and banquet is located in prominent Omni Towers condominium’s lobby level which has 350 rooms in Sukhumvit area.  Revival restaurant is replaced with four-year old running “Inteak” restaurant.

Revival Bangkok is an all-day dining restaurant which will operate from 7 am to 2 am daily. It will serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack throughout the day. The Revival Bangkok will also offer Banquets services with liquor for various functions and group bookings.

The Revival is known for entering global arena and made its presence felt from year 2001 when they opened first Revival franchise restaurant in Vietnam. Later they expanded to Sydney in Australia and Dubai. They were looking for virgin market in Far East, so here they have arrived recently.

Kamlesh Barot, Director Revival restaurant says, “In Dubai, we entered with our erstwhile prominent brand Rajdhani Thali in 2008 which was located at Crawford market area in Mumbai, since 1947. Before us all Thali restaurants in Bur Dubai used to serve food on chafing dishes which guest had to refill themselves. They used to serve only hot chapatis to guests on the table. In Dubai we turned the impersonal service of Indian food from self-service to a platter to plate – zero chafing dish service market there from a service pleading-paying customer to a royal sit-down silver service – a’la Barots, which we are contemplating offering in Bangkok too!”

Revival restaurant is known for serving authentic Indian vegetarian delicacies for more than five decades in Mumbai’s Chowpatty area. It has won several prestigious awards for best food, ambience and services. Revival Bangkok will stop service of Non-Vegetarian food that the previous restaurant was serving lunch onwards. Their prominent chef Ajit Parmar who has worked in Mumbai and Dubai is already taken charge to create his magic in Bangkok along with Vipin Devrani too.

SOME FACTS: It may be noted that Thailand is one of the favourite international tourist destinations for Indians. The Indian tourists spent almost 70 billion Baht (USD 2.2 billion) last year and 58 per cent of them have been there before with the length of stay averaging 7.45 days. Indians are ranked sixth among nationalities visiting Thailand with over 1.6 million visitors in 2018. This is just behind Japan and ahead of Russia. This is a marked increase from 11th place and 500,000 visitors ten years ago. Most Indian visitors to Thailand travel independently instead of joining tour groups.

MY VIEW: Revival Restaurant at Bangkok is truly a great place after a visit to Bangkok, it’s a best place for Indian food. We were immediately greeted with smiles and seated. Not long after our order was placed, the food arrived which was abundant, delightful and amazing. The restaurant is very spacious, possesses warm and family ambience. I’d have to say the best thing about this place is the friendly staff. I enjoyed my dinner here. You can go with your friends and family.
