Michelin Starred Chef Mural Pushes Culinary Boundaries: Opens Kokum by Chef Mural at Palazzo Versace

India born Michelin-starred chef Manjunath Mural, a Singapore resident has achieved one more milestone. He has set up Kokum by Chef Mural super premium restaurant in the Gold Coast’s most exclusive hotel, Palazzo Versace. By doing this, he lifted the lid on his first Gold Coast dining space. It’s a 120-seat waterfront restaurant and bar set to introduce the city to an entirely redefined Indian dining experience.

There are various options available for food enthusiasts to choose from. With million-dollar views of superyachts on the beautiful Broadwater, you can choose to dine in their 14-seat private dining room, 16-seat semi-private space or bask in the atmosphere in the common area with room for 80 diners.

Kokum is the brainchild of food boundary-pusher, Chef Munjunath Mural. He has delivered yet another refined menu which continues to take Indian cuisine to new levels. He is carefully blended traditional Indian flavours and methods with modern Australian components and local ingredients. This venture he has collaborated with Sridhar Penumechu from Saffron Restaurant. Kokum’s menu highlights a number of native ingredients like saltbush, pepper berries and Kakadu plum expertly incorporated.

Chef Mural’s Menu at Kokum:
 Chef Mural has dished out exclusive dishes that include shrimp bhaji, sous vide pork belly, rendang lamb, pomegranate prawn and sambal barramundi, flambé lamb, Mangalorean bugs, and chilli paneer. The sweet lovers, be tempted by unique flavours like saffron cheesecake log with pistachio crumb and boondi, saffron, chai & macadamia ice cream with falooda panna cotta, or beetroot and dried figs with raspberry sorbet. And that’s not end? There are multiple choices made available to choose from.

About Chef Manjunath Mural: Chef Mural is working as Director of Cuisine at The Song of India, Singapore. It’s a modern Indian restaurant that features regional flavours of across India. He is recognised for his decades of hard work. In 2016, the restaurant was awarded its first Michelin star which followed consecutively in 2017 and 2018 creating a hat trick. He has come long way for his achievement and is fortunate to have worked with leading top Indian chefs, includes Padmashri Awardee Sanjeev Kapoor, Celebrity Chef Milind Sovani and Celebrity Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi.
