Amit Kumar has been recently appointed as the General Manager at ITC Grand Central hotel located at Parel in Mumbai. Prior to his new appointment he was associated with ITC at WelcomHotel The Savoy Mussoorie and ITC Windsor Bengaluru as General Manager.
With over two decades of work experience in the hospitality industry, Amit Kumar will be responsible for managing overall hotel operations including planning, procurement, sales, revenue generation, marketing & public relations. He is a consistent performer with proven track record of increasing revenues, improving guest satisfaction through and streamlining workflow.
Amit brings with him management expertise garnered through Indian & International exposure from his previous experiences. Apart from having intense leadership and decision making skills he also excels in handling and supervising large teams, crisis management at the hotels and proper branding and positioning of the same.
ITC Grand Central hotel consists of 240 spacious guest rooms with 2 suites. It has finest dining destinations that comprises of Shanghai Club, Hornby’s Pavilion, Kebabs & Kurries, Dublin, Frederick’s Lounge and Point of View – Nestled in the rooftopand prominent meetings, wedding and social venues.
Amit started his career with Taj Group of hotels in 2000 at Taj President as Trainee Catering Assistant. He got promoted toAssistant Restaurant Manager and then restaurant manager. Soon after his promotion he was transferred to Taj Mahal Palace & Tower hotel Mumbai as Restaurant Manager in 2003. He got an opportunity to work for Taj Coral Reef Maldives (currently Vivanta by Taj) as food & beverage in charge.
After his stint with Taj group, he moved out to enhance his knowledge and career graph. He worked in leading hotels in India. During his tenure at the Leela Mumbai he worked as Assistant Food & Beverage Manager. He worked as Director of Food & Beverage at Westin Mumbai Garden City (Previously Starwood, now Marriott International). Thereafter he joined The Lalit Mumbai as Executive Assistant Manager F&B Service. He was soon promoted as Director of Operations & General Manager at the Hilton Worldwide.
